The evolving economic relationships between the European Union, China, and the United States are reshaping international trade, investment, technological competition, and the global economic order.

These developments raise fundamental questions about the future of international economic law, economic security, industrial policies, multilateral institutions, and the growing intersection between economic interdependence and geopolitical competition.

On Friday, November 6, 2026, I will join an academic discussion at Università eCampus in Rome, organized by the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence fEUture, to examine these issues from European, Chinese, and international perspectives.

The discussion will bring together:

🔹 Prof. Roberto Castaldi, Università eCampus, Director of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence fEUture – Opening remarks and moderator

🔹 Prof. Paolo Davide Farah, University of Tulsa College of Law, USA

🔹 Prof. Shiping Liao, Beijing Normal University, China

🔹 Dr. Giorgia Sorrentino, European Federalist Movement – UEF Italy

🔹 Hon. Brando Benifei, Member of the European Parliament (S&D Group)

The event is organized in collaboration with gLAWcal – Global Law Initiatives for Sustainable Development, the International Law Association (ILA), and its American Branch (ABILA).
